Built in 1850, the house 'Can Besa' was used as a farm building for over one century.

The house has been built in a style characteristic for Catalunya, with natural stone and typical Catalunyan bows on the ground floor.

Over the past few years, the farm has been fully restored and equipped with all modern utilities. The house is divided into three separate apartments, each with an own entrance and strict privacy.

The apartment with the arched ceiling has a bedroom with bathroom and a living room with a built-in kitchen.The spacious living room of the apartment on the top floor has a beautiful fireplace. This apartment also has a built-in kitchen with all modern comforts. The apartment has one bedroom with connecting bathroom.

The main apartment has a cozy kitchen-cum-livingroom, with a built-in dishwasher. This apartment has two bedrooms and one big bathroom.

All apartments have their own terrace. All guests are free to use the swimming pool and the barbecue. A washing machine and dryer are also available.

Can Besa is situated on the outskirts of the old village of Vilajuiga, whichs connects to the extensive nature reservat Cap de Creus. It is the perfect starting point for beautiful walks, for example through the mountains to the former convent of Sant Pere de Rodes with its breathtaking view.

Some towns worth a visit are Figueras with the Salvador Dalí museum, Roses with small and winding shopping streets and the artisans' village Cadaques with its pittoresque port.

There are excellent connections by car or train to Gerona and Barcelona, both perfect for an interesting excursion. Other places of interest are the medieval Besalú and Peralada, famous for the festival of classical music in the summer.

Vilajuiga is enclosed by the foothills of the Pyrenees and by the Costa Brava with its small white beaches and a clear blue sea.

The surroundings of Can Besa offer a wide range of possibilities: a cultural day trip, a sporting walk through the mountains, exciting scubadiving in the ocean or a sunny day on the beach with a refreshing dip into the azure blue Mediterranean every now and then.
